MultiTech Solvent B
1 of 80 products in this brandMultiTech Solvent B results from splitting cumene hydroperoxide with sulphuric acid. Cumene (isopropylbenzene) is obtained through the catalytic alkylation of benzene with propylene, using a solid bed catalyst.
Cepsa Chemicals Phenol has excellent solubility in alcohol, ether, chloroform, glycerin, carbon disulfide, and aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons.
Cepsa Chemicals Phenol is Kosher and Halal certified. High purity 99.98%, low color and low water content.
Sustainable Solutions:
Cepsa Chemicals is a pioneer in more sustainable solutions, being the first phenol producer with ISCC+ certification (International Sustainability Carbon Certification) for both Phenol and Acetone products. The Cepsa site in Spain uses 100% renewable electricity.
Applications:
Bisphenol A (BPA)
Phenol is mainly used in the production of Bisphenol A (BPA), an intermediate in the manufacturing of Polycarbonate and Epoxy Resins.
Caprolactam
Phenol is also used to produce caprolactam through the Nylon 6 route.
Dyes
Substituted phenols are used in the dye industry to make intensely colored azo-dyes.
Disinfectants
Phenol is used in low concentrations as a disinfectant in household cleaners
Phenolic Resins
Phenolic resins account for a large percentage of the phenol production. Phenolic resins are used in several industries and applications, like for example in building and construction (insulation, laminates and coatings).
Food Preservation Additives
Phenols are used to produce synthetic phenolic compounds (antioxidants) like butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and tertiary-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ).
